Our vineyard grows on Keuper soils and is located in the “Iphöfer Kronsberg” area. The Keuper soils have good heat and water storage abilities and do not dry out easily, which is a great advantage in hot and dry wine years. The roots have a favorable temperature on cool nights due to the heat retention. On this soil, we produce full-bodied, high-quality wines rich in minerals.
We cultivate our vineyard with great love, passion and heart. We take care of our grapevines by hand. From our ancestors, we have inherited all the experience in growing and caring for grapevines and producing wine, as the vineyard is passed down from generation to generation
Our grapes are harvested by hand, which has the advantage that only the best grapes are processed. It also guarantees a gentle handling of the grapes. Since 2017, we have specialized in the production of cold fermented wine. In this process, the must is gently fermented at temperatures between 15°C and 18°C. As a result of this cold fermentation process, delicate, aromatic and fruity wines with a deep and distinct bouquet are created.
We started selling wine directly in 1999, through a so-called “garage sale”. At the turn of 2014/2015, we designed and renovated our wine cellar. It is kept in the style of late Gothic, which adds a special charm and mystique to it.
We grow grape varieties such as Bacchus and Müller-Thurgau.
We have been taking care of our vineyard for almost half a century.
